Regenerative Orchards and Agroforestry, High Weald

This 30-acre regenerative agroforestry project blends ecological restoration with high-yield orchard systems for a forward-thinking client in the High Weald AONB.

Key Features:

  • 1,600 productive trees planted on keyline to produce fruit, nuts, fibre and fuel.

  • Water retention and distribution is improved through natural land contours.

  • Designed for a large private estate with pioneering sustainability goals.

  • Perennial food system integrated with biodiversity enhancement.

  • Ground layers of berries and crops for efficient land use

Working with the natural landscape, this project introduces a keyline-patterned orchard that promotes water infiltration and soil health. Using LIDAR mapping, the design improves both ecological regeneration and agricultural productivity. The orchard system will support food production while enhancing the estate’s environmental footprint through sustainable land use.
